Cichlid Chessboard

The Chessboard Cichlid, native to Central America, sports checkerboard patterns on its body. It prefers slightly alkaline water (pH 6.0-6.5) and a stable temperature of 24-28°C, with a water hardness between 3 and 15 dH. This territorial cichlid can be aggressive, especially during breeding. A spacious aquarium with hiding places, rocks and sturdy plants is recommended. Their diet includes pellets, flakes and live foods.
